Would you like to add more movement into your life, have more energy and make new friends? With the New Year approaching, we are focusing on finding your feel good for 2020.
We all know that exercise is good for us, it helps to keep our weight in check, and it keeps us relaxed. We also know regular exercise strengthens our bones, muscles, and ligaments. However, exercise does a lot more than keep us in good physical shape, it keeps our minds healthy too. Being active can boost your feel-good endorphins and distract you from daily worries.
Finding your feel good
We all need to take a bit of time out and do something that will benefit our health. Have you ever tried group exercise? FLexercise classes are held within local communities and they really are a fun way to get yourself feeling fitter. Our unique classes are part exercise, part dance but all fun. In short, we offer a complete approach to fitness and mobility for all ages and abilities that will leave you looking good and feeling great.
Everything we do is based on the FLexercise system, which was pioneered in 1930 by Mary Bagot Stack to energise and strengthen the whole body. She believed that the body works best when posture and alignment are correctly placed and the body is energised. Our system of exercise can be adapted to suit any level of fitness and by coming along to weekly classes you’ll find over time your mood, memory, strength, flexibility, and balance will all improve.
Friendship and fun
At our classes, you get to meet lots of people, make new friends and have fun. Our teachers are all qualified so you will be in safe hands. They are all approachable and always happy to answer any questions relating to exercise. FLexercise classes are ideal if you’ve not been very active for a while but you want to improve your overall wellbeing in a safe and non-competitive environment. Lots of our class members have made life long friendships and many of them will be meeting up in Spring 2020 when we celebrate our 90th birthday at The Forum Theatre in Bath.
Happy Hormones
Exercise is important for our heads and our hearts. Research shows that when we exercise, blood pressure and blood flow increases everywhere in the body, including the brain. More blood means more energy and oxygen, which makes our brain perform better and therefore we will feel more energised and brighter. You’ll notice after your workout you’ll probably have more energy to take on day-to-day jobs.
Regular exercise can not only change our bodies but lift our spirits and help us to relax. January can sometimes feel like a tough month to get through so exercise could provide the opportunity to get away from it all and enjoy some time for yourself or if you prefer with friends.
Making exercise part of your daily life, combined with eating sensibly contributes to a long and healthy life. So, if you already go along to one of our weekly classes and know someone who may benefit from coming to an FLexercise class, but feels intimidated by taking that first step, offer to bring them along. You never know, you too may make new friends too.
If you would like a weekly dose of these feel-good-hormones, why not come and give our classes a go. You can find a class here – Find a FLexercise Class.
