Bath celebrations put on hold
The Bath 90th anniversary celebrations have been postponed until later in the year. The Events Team came to this very sad decision yesterday evening. The Trustees have supported the decision.
We felt that we had to take responsibility for the people coming to our event because many of you are in the vulnerable age group. We wouldn’t want anyone’s health to be at risk. It was also important to make a timely decision for the members coming from overseas. This morning’s news is that the government is now likely to ban large gatherings next weekend which provides further justification for our decision.
Forum Theatre remains open for other events.
We have talked to the Forum Theatre who are very keen that we shouldn’t cancel and will support us in every way they can with postponing to a later date in the autumn. They have been absolutely wonderful to work with.
We are keen to point out they remain open for other types of events, with a different customer and performer make-up which are unaffected. For our event, however, they agree it seems right to postpone.
We will reschedule so hold onto your ticket
We are going to reschedule the event for later in the autumn. So please hold onto your ticket until we sort out the logistics. At that time, all tickets will be valid for the re-arranged event. A refund will be available for those who can’t make the new date, but we really hope you will be able to be there.
We would ask you to support us and the Forum with your understanding and patience. Together we will make sure you have a great event at the right time.
Apex hotel has also been very helpful
Our contact at the Apex Hotel is also very keen that the event be postponed rather than cancelled. We are now working on the logistics of that. We are optimistic that the Apex and the other hotels booked for the event will want to keep our business. It will take a few days to negotiate a date with the theatre and the hotel (s). We will let you know as soon as the new date is confirmed.
Stay healthy
We hope you will support our view that your health is paramount. After all, good health is what we are all about and we would not want anyone to contract the virus because they attended our event.
