How important is job satisfaction?
What sort of pleasure and achievement do you get from your job? Job satisfaction should be high on our list, though how many of us can say we love what we do and leave work feeling satisfied?
Job satisfaction can be described in many ways, to put it briefly we need to be content in what we do. We all want that feeling of fulfilment and enjoyment in our workplace. Do you truly enjoy your job? If you do you’ll naturally want to be the best you can at it. According to a new study, around a fifth of workers in 2018 are looking to move on from their current role.

Loving what you do
However, finding a career that’s going to give you job satisfaction is incredibly difficult. In order to love what you do you’ve got to be passionate about it. Some people work all their lives and even excel in their career but unfortunately, many people leave a working life unfulfilled.
At FLexercise we take pride in seeing positive and mental wellbeing through participation in our classes. As a result of this, our teachers gain a great deal of job satisfaction.
Grace Gilchrist tells us about her career with FLexercise.
The satisfaction level of my job is pretty high! I trained fifteen years ago and I’ve never looked back. I teach three classes a week, one in Gourock and two in Largs. Both venues are on the West Coast of Scotland. The sheer joy on the faces of members throughout each class is rewarding. In all honesty, it is the most satisfying part of my role as a FLexercise teacher.
Fun, fitness and friendship are very important to me. Our members want to feel they are improving their strength, mobility and overall they want improved energy levels. Class members often come up to me after class and tell me how their aches and pains have eased. Without a doubt, this makes me really happy.
One of the most rewarding and satisfying aspects of teaching group exercise is seeing the positive physical and mental changes in some of our members. Quite often a member will approach me saying their aches and pains have eased due to taking part in regular exercise. We all know it’s no secret that exercise is one of the best ways to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
In a few weeks, I shall be teaching a master class at a major FLexercise event in Malvern. I’m really looking forward to the Malvern weekend. In addition to taking a class, I shall also be performing in the show, all in all, it’s going to be a busy weekend for me but I’m really excited about it.
Lastly, I only have one word to describe my feelings towards FLexercise – FAB-U-LOUS!
