There is always someone worse than you still fighting, just look at the Invictus Games.
I have gone from being a hard working 24/7 /365 days a year farmers daughter whose later activities included kayaking, abseiling, walking, gardening and horse riding changing to side saddle in latter years due to hip replacement. I’ve had over forty years of trying every imaginable class and gyms, all to no avail. None of the class instructors seemed interested and could barely disguise their boredom.
Never give up
You see where there is a will there’s a way, and our dear Queen is still riding at 92!
Sadly now I am reduced to two hours a day of energy activities. This is due to a long running battle with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, which I am still fighting, as I so don’t want to lose those precious 2 hours. It’s mind over matter – and I mind very much! Also, a few years ago I was diagnosed with a Meningioma which in broad terms affects the motor and memory functions of the frontal lobe. Not very helpful when it comes to left and right, and holding a conversation is nigh impossible! But you just have to laugh it off.
I first saw a flyer for Nikki’s FLexercise classes in my physio’s reception and if they were promoting Nikki then she had to be good! I’ve known my Physio for a long time, who I trust implicitly, through my Orthopedic Surgeon of very long standing.
The feel good factor
So all that I have and now enjoy is down to FLexercise and my teacher Nikki. It’s her genuine interest, love, and enjoyment of what she does – it is so infectious.
And she is so ‘dance and music’ orientated that it runs through her like a ‘stick of rock’.
I would not be feeling the way I do if it were not for Nikki and FLexercise.
ME can really steal your life. But a big thanks to Nikki and all the social extras she organises for us all. Not forgetting the truly wonderful, supportive ladies in our group. I’m now more energised, motivated and active than I have ever been since ME was diagnosed.
Health problems what health problems!
