The expression ‘Exercise is Medicine’ started as the name of a health initiative and is now a catchphrase used by doctors, fitness experts, and others who want to motivate you to move. Lorraine Phillips our October Member of the Month decided for medical reasons it was time to exercise. For many people joining a gym or a class can often be a little daunting. However, for Lorraine, she knew she had to get moving. It wasn’t long before she soon felt the benefit both physically and mentally.
I joined FLexercise four years ago. At this time my core strength, balance, and coordination were all very weak, this was due to bulging discs in my back. It was frustrating for me as I was unable to do any floor exercises.
Regular exercising with FLexercise has really helped me. During our exercise class, we regularly concentrate on balance and now I don’t need a chair for support and I’m also able to do all the floor exercises which I struggled with before. I would recommend FLexercise to every age group, we all need to keep moving and maintain our mobility. Not only has it helped me physically, but it’s also a great social night with a lovely group of people. Julie our teacher is a great support, not only to me but all the members at the Wallasey class.
