Our July Member of the Month is Gina Patterson from Orkney. With the support from her FLexercise friends and her teacher, she is well on the road to a healthier life.
Gina’s Transformation Story
After having gastric health issues and accepting that I was over 16 stone and on the way to other major health issues, I began to make changes to my lifestyle. Not wanting a diet and exercise routine, I decided to look for a lifestyle change.
It started with a decision to eat more healthily. During this time I put in some sensible rules like treats are not meant to be enjoyed every day and not nibbling anything after my 6 pm meal. I was also more aware of the balance and quantity of food on my plate.
Philippa’s FLexercise class started in Spring 2017 and I that’s when I started exercising with her. Also, I began walking several times a week usually with my Nordic poles. A technique which I also learned with Philippa. I’m committed to going to Philippa’s local FLexercise group every week. Phillipa’s guidance has really helped me. Strength, muscle tone, and increased flexibility are just a few of the benefits I’m beginning to see and feel.
Now I feel healthier
Over the last 6 months, I have lost around three stone and would like to lose a little more. In class, I now wear exercise leggings instead of baggy trousers which feels great!. With the continued support of my FLexercise colleagues and teacher Philippa Porritt, I can see the road to successful healthy living.
